So three cats walk into a bar. They jump up onto the counter and ask for milk. The bartender says he has no milk, and that they don't serve cats anyway. The cats jump down, and walk out the way cats do when they're miffed, tails up, butts wagging.

     Sometime later we discover the bar has gone out of business. The building has been sold and turned into an animal shelter. The bartender, out of work, is in the Pine Street facility for the homeless. It's a coincidence, of course. No one could imagine these events were connected.

     A wired world could be a cat's best time. A keyboard is something a cat can manage with a carefully extended claw. Opposable thumbs are not required. Maybe there's a reason why so many pictures of cats grace the internet.

     We tend to smirk a little at the fractured grammar and bad spelling that accompany many of these pictures, forgetting that the language of the internet is relatively new to them. Most of them speak fluent Cat, with all the nuances and sophisticated gloss a linguist could wish for. Henri, Le Chat Noir, has excellent diction in his adopted language. Is Fluffy that far behind?
